When I first started painting faces in my art journals back in 2018, I never imagined how deeply this practice would touch me — or others. Faces are more than likenesses; they carry emotion, personality, and even fragments of ourselves. Every brushstroke can reveal something about who we are, our strength, softness, and our inner world.
After years of experimenting, exploring, and refining my techniques, I’m thrilled to finally share my process with you in my newest course: Portraits Within.
What is Portraits Within?Portraits Within is a mixed-media portrait course that blends creative technique with self-discovery. It’s designed for creatives at all levels — even if you’ve never drawn a face before.
The course is structured in three modules:
Intro & Sketching Foundations – Learn the “rules” of proportion and three easy ways to sketch a face. The first method is so simple that anyone can produce a great sketch ready to fill with colour, marks, and textures.
Loosening Exercises – Build confidence in shaping forms, working with value, and understanding planes of the face through playful, dynamic exercises.
Portrait Projects – Explore six expressive portraits across different mediums: acrylics, watercolour, pastels, mixed-media, and art journal techniques. Each lesson is dynamic, in-depth, and presented by me, sharing my signature process honed over years of practice.
